The Africa Relief Committee carried out two medical caravans in the Tami area of Hargeisa, benefiting 1,554 individuals.

The caravans were inaugurated by the committee’s Director General, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Muallemi, who emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid in Somali regions of the Horn of Africa. He noted that these caravans are part of the “Healing Caravans” initiative, implemented by the committee with generous funding from Kuwaiti philanthropists through the Global Mercy Association, in collaboration with the International Hospital.

The caravans provided free medical check-ups across all specialties, overseen by a specialized medical team. Critical cases were transferred to the International Hospital in Hargeisa for necessary treatment.

In this context, Professor Dr. Ahmed Moatamed, Director of the International Hospital, highlighted the significant role these health initiatives play in alleviating the suffering of underprivileged communities.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Kuwait for its medical efforts and healthcare services, praying for continued security and stability for Kuwait and the entire Arab and Islamic nations.

These caravans reaffirm Kuwait’s leading role in global humanitarian efforts and its ongoing support for vulnerable communities in developing countries.
