Amid the difficult conditions faced by the people of Somaliland, particularly in the health sector, which struggles with major challenges, humanitarian initiatives emerge as a lifeline for many. In this context, the “Healing Caravans” were launched in Hargeisa, bringing hope and medical care to hundreds of patients. The initiative was generously funded by philanthropists from Kuwait through the Global Mercy Association.

The caravans were implemented by the Africa Relief Committee, in collaboration with the International Hospital in Hargeisa, providing free medical services across various specialties. A total of 800 individuals in urgent need of healthcare benefited from these services.

Speaking about the initiative, Professor Dr. Ahmed Moatamed, Director of the International Hospital, emphasized that these caravans not only deliver medicine but also serve as a “message of hope” for thousands of Somalis suffering from limited medical services. He added that the dedicated efforts reflect the spirit of humanitarian solidarity, helping to save lives and alleviate the suffering of those in need.

These medical caravans stand as a living testament to the power of humanitarian unity, demonstrating that aid transcends borders to reach those who need it most. They reaffirm that kindness knows no boundaries, and a single act of compassion can be the difference between life and death.
