The African Relief Committee (ARC) continues its vital work of delivering resources to vulnerable communities in the Horn of Africa. Building on the success of its Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program, ARC has recently constructed three new boreholes in strategically chosen locations: two on the outskirts of Jowhar, Hirshabeelle, and one on the outskirts of Kismayo, Jubaland.
Each borehole measures 15 meters deep and 1.2 meters wide, featuring a concrete structure, cover, and an animal watering trough. These three wells ensure the needs of at least 900 individuals are met, addressing a critical challenge in semi-arid regions of Somalia. Access to clean water is often limited, especially during prolonged droughts. Funded by ALRAHMA International, ARC’s WASH program consistently digs dozens of wells each year, bringing life-giving water within reach for countless families across the region.
